Description of Unit Plan

In this unit, students learn how Lahaina, Hawai'i’s present-day climate challenges are rooted in the past. Students gain a deeper understanding of the historical context of current events, with an emphasis on the traditional ecological knowledge of the ali‘i, in order to consider Lahaina’s environmental legacy.
