Synopsis
- In this activity from BioInteractive, students explore case studies of biodiversity loss and evaluate different conservation strategies designed to protect threatened species and ecosystems.

Prerequisites

- Teachers can use this resource to make connections to the Sustainable Development Goals, primarily SDG 14, Life Below Water, and SDG 15, Life on Land.
- To make connections to art, students can create their own comics to demonstrate their understanding of the species covered in their Wild Hope episode, using the seal comic as a mentor text.
This resource uses the Hawaiian monk seal as a case study for students to design a solution to preserve their population. All key terms are clearly defined, and the primary literature is sourced from trusted institutions such as IUCN and WWF. The impact of human activity on biodiversity is presented clearly.
