  • This video highlights climate inequality and how low-income and minority communities do not have the necessary resources to mitigate or adapt to the effects of climate change.  

Additional Prerequisites


  • Students in social studies classes can discuss adaptation solutions for the communities identified in the video.  
  • English language arts classes or science classes can research climate change effects in their local areas and write a blog to inform the public on the causes, current effects, and possible solutions. 
  • This video can be paired with the Essentials of Environmental Science: Basics of Climate Science video so that students can learn the basic terms of climate change or use one of the resources linked above.
Scientist Notes
It is a reality that low-income households and marginalized communities will be worst hit by climate change. The video articulates the extent of inequalities already happening and attempts to project extreme cases and outcomes in the future if urgent climate actions are not taken to reduce these inequalities. This resource is recommended for teaching.
